Graduate Student Programs

In order to change what is wrong with the environment, we need to change what is wrong with economics as it is currently taught and practiced. E3 Network's goal is to develop better research and theory within economics. There is no better place to start than with the current generation of graduate students.

Students who choose to study environmental and ecological economics usually do so because they believe they can make a difference. The curriculum in most graduate programs, however, is heavily theoretical and devoid of opportunities for understanding how graduate training in economics can be applied in practical ways to improve the well-being of society at large.

E3 Network's graduate student programs provide graduate students with opportunities to work with non-governmental organizations on real-world environmental issues, learn from economists in our network how to incorporate equity concerns directly into their research, and earn financial support for doctoral research programs that reflect the principles of E3 Network.
